چکیده

This paper addresses the harmonic retrieval problem in colored linear non-Gaussian noise of unknown covariance and unknown distribution. The assumptions made in the reported studies, that the non-Gaussian noise is asymmetrically distributed and no quadratic phase coupling occurs ,are released. Using the elaborately defined fourth-order cumulants of the complex noisy observations which are obtained through Hilbert transform ,we can either estimate the noise correlation nonpapametrically via cumulant projections or obtain the AR polynomial of the nonGaussian noise parametrically through ARMA modeling, then it is shown that the prewhitening or prefiltering techniques can be employed to retrieve harmonics respectively. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithms.

A Novel DOA Estimation Approach for Unknown Coherent Source Groups with Coherent Signals

In this paper, a new combination of Minimum Description Length (MDL) or Eigenvalue Gradient Method (EGM), Joint Approximate Diagonalization of Eigenmatrices (JADE) and Modified Forward-Backward Linear Prediction (MFBLP) algorithms is proposed which determines the number of non-coherent source groups and estimates the Direction Of Arrivals (DOAs) of coherent signals in each group. First, the MDL...

Classical open systems with nonlinear nonlocal dissipation and state-dependent diffusion: dynamical responses and the Jarzynski equality.

We have studied dynamical responses and the Jarzynski equality (JE) of classical open systems described by the generalized Caldeira-Leggett model with the nonlocal system-bath coupling. In the derived non-Markovian Langevin equation, the nonlinear nonlocal dissipative term and state-dependent diffusion term yielding multiplicative colored noise satisfy the fluctuation-dissipation relation. Simu...

Approximate Kalman Filtering for the Harmonic plus Noise Model

We present a probabilistic description of the Harmonic plus Noise Model (HNM) for speech signals. This probabilistic formulation permits Maximum Likelihood (ML) parameter estimation and speech synthesis becomes a straightforward sampling from a distribution. It also permits development of a Kalman filter that tracks model parameters such as pitch, harmonic amplitudes, and autoregressive coeffic...

Escape through an unstable limit cycle driven by multiplicative colored non-Gaussian and additive white Gaussian noises.

In a previous paper [Bag and Hu, Phys. Rev. E 73, 061107 (2006)], we studied the mean lifetime (MLT) for the escape of a Brownian particle through an unstable limit cycle driven by multiplicative colored Gaussian and additive Gaussian white noises and found resonant activation (RA) behavior. In the present paper we switch from Gaussian to non-Gaussian multiplicative colored noise. We find that ...

Harmonic retrieval in nonstationary noise

Harmonic retrieval is a classical signal processing problem but it has been almost invariably assumed that the additive noise is stationary. In this paper, we abandon this requirement and allow the additive noise to be nonstationary (but also non-cyclostationary in order to distinguish it from the information bearing signal). We show that various FFT based approaches can still be used on a sing...
